I share with you my mood board for my next photography project! Make sure to follow me to see the turn out.

Originally inspired by Beyonce’s @vogue cover. I loved the set up with the blanket outside and EVERYTHING. But, the set up is something that I can create at home. I then was inspired by my hair style (I braided my entire hair) and I was finding ways I could shoot some images with my hair braided that was in an aesthetic and fashionable way. Laslty, my boho/hippie/island and love towards color and nature was what got me to decide on this project. 

This person right here, her name’s Marina. 24 years old and still trying to find herself, trying to find the right path for her life.

She’s been in a tough world.

Her parents are divorced since she was young. She’s living with her mother in a cozy small apartment with a great terrace at the center of the city. Her mom is a life coach, specially for women that have goals to reach but they’re not even halfway there. Her brother’s living in Barcelona and studying music. And lastly, her dad is living with another woman, which that woman negates everything Marina does. But, at least, Marina’s relationship with her dad is all well. And so with the rest of her family.

Her late teenage life was dark.

She’s been under bad influence with people doing drugs and smoking and doing all sorts of things.

It was hard for her to get out of there.

You can see it in her eyes and in the way she speaks.

After a couple of years she’s been through a process of desintoxication, maybe five years… that’s long enough for her to forget her past and be a new person. But the problem is that she’s still lingering a bit on the past.

She’s smoking cigarettes, she tends to be indecisive, sometimes impulsive. At least she’s not violent.

She’s a different person than before.

Well, I never seen her the way she was because I met her like 4 months ago, and we connected a lot. But I am sure that her personality changed. She’s soft and gentle, and a good person. But her “nature” of being sometimes being impatient and indecisive can be tiring. That’s why her mom and I (and more people, of course) are beside her.

It’s not our job, specially not mine, to save her. She has to save herself, because at the end she’s the one who decides whether to take our words seriously and make action or refute them and continue being the way she is and not make any progress.

That’s what I don’t really like about Marina, but I also learned a lot from her. And hopefully she learns a lot from me too. It’s a way of growing - learn from yourself and from others.

On the other hand, what I like the most about her is that she’s a comfortable person to be with and kind of open-minded, so it’s easy to talk about anything.

She’s real, honest, sincere, soft and gentle, open, loving… she’s got so many good traits behind those real problems of hers.

And I hope she’ll be on the right track soon.
