if you could have any view from your bedroom window what would you choose?

something that changes, like if the door in howl’s moving castle was a window. the views would be places i’ve been, mostly in the rain. fontainemelon, paris, the colosseum, and fontainebleu for starters!

what’s your favorite thing to do on a sunny day?

find a friend, take a little walk, look at plants, talk a lot, take pictures! and eat fancy pastry in a park if the mood strikes.

what do you consider lucky?

having what you want or need just... show up out of nowhere.

what made you smile today?

friend texts, sewing projects i’m planning, pistachio cream on toast (delicious sacrilege), being back in ottawa - friends are nearby and the weather is decent!

what makes you happy?

being remembered/cared for/noticed/appreciated. feeling organized. understanding things. small meaningful or cute objects. small but completed art projects. cats. frank o’hara. museums, vintage shops, and gardens.

what do you do when you’re sad?

put off my responsibilities, figure out why i’m sad, rest, then engage in either sulking (self-explanatory) or counterattack (music, minor acts of productivity, looking at doll pictures) until i feel human again - and then do something that makes me happy.

what are some things you do when you can’t sleep?

remember that blue light keeps the brain awake, then do mindless stuff on my phone but feel bad about it >.<

what was the best (non-romantic) night you’ve had?

surprise birthday party courtesy of my best frends (!!!!), museum visits, driving quietly with the stars out, and any/all late-night chats with darwin or while traveling

what kind of covers do you have on your bed?

red sheets, brown and blue blankets, too many pillows, captain america tsum

who is the last person you told a secret to?

i don’t really have secrets. or i am a deliberately open book to cover up the (minor, inconsequential, but embarrassing) few secrets i actually have.

blue: what do you do when you’re sad? these days i don’t even know! but sometimes i bake or go sleep on my friends’ couch or hug my cats or watch uncomplicated fun television. also chocolate.

what are some things you do when you can’t sleep? lie awake and stare at the ceiling?? alternatively, listen to an audiobook in one language while reading in another :)

what was the best (non-romantic) night you’ve had? i’ve had a lot of really good nights! i love the nights when we’ve got a large enough group for zemiros that we stay til closing and the nights i’ve fallen asleep to nerdy television in a pile of wonderful geeks and the nights i’ve spent making ridiculous kitchen concoctions. also, of course, the nights when the cats have fallen asleep on my chest.

what kind of covers do you have on your bed? unfortunately not my regular bed, but my family has a pile of quilts for me to use when i visit! heavy covers are the best covers.
