Yes definitely! So that whole time is a bit fuzzy especially when it comes to Dan's high school friend group, since we know almost nothing about them and have had to draw our own conclusions from there. But in the 2009 Phan timeline (my bible for starting this blog lol), this is what the notes say for September 26, 2009:

So basically we've all kind of made up our own stories around it but my personal theory based on what Dan told us in BIG is that he avoided her for as long as possible and likely put off "officially" breaking up with her until things were starting to get more serious in his and Phil's chats because he wanted to focus on having fun with these new YouTube friends and not on the big scary thing that would likely make his girlfriend really mad at him. Though some of that may be projection because that's exactly what I would have done when I was 18 🤣
