1: if someone wanted to really understand you, what would they read, watch, and listen to?

One must read the comic of Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind and the His Dark Materials books. They would watch the movies that mattered to me as a child (especially the ones that are important for various holidays?). They would listen to Beethoven's 7th Symphony and Dvorak's New World Symphony. I'm sure there's more but I can't think of it right now. It's a hard question!

1: I am super passionate about learning French (and most languages, actually, but French is a priority). I’m not good at it but I love it ^.^

2: I want to write for video games/work for Bioware.

3: As a writer, a few tendencies I have is to make a lot of mother characters and to make a lot of savage and psychotic death/violence. They aren’t usually relevant to each other though xD

4: I knew I wasn’t straight in 4th grade.

5: I get very twitchy and uncomfortable if I don’t have my sketchpad or my phone.

I've always sorta wondered if your url was a reference to something that I was missing, but that's neat! Also good luck in China!

oh boyyy YA suggestions that's... do you have an hour? jk jk ummm off the top of my head (and my goodreads) any Tamora Pierce (clearly), the Old Kingdom books by Garth Nix, the Pellinor series (Alison Croggon) is great, the Bartimaeus books (Jonathan Stroud), The Harper Hall trilogy (Anne McCaffery) was always shelved as YA at my library? (but keep in mind that a lot of the first book is about a girl in an abusive family, and a lot of her work is really problematic. But on the plus side, mini-dragons!), and I love the Queen's Thief series (Megan Whalen Turner), as well as the Graceling books (Kristin Cashore), the Young Wizards books are also good (if you want a little more science in your fiction, Diane Duane)

The Earthsea books are good (but a little harder to get through than the rest), and I used to love everything by Vivian Vande Velde (especially her retold fairy tales), Abarat (Clive Barker) if you want something weird and strange with off the wall drawings, and Howl's Moving Castle for sure. I remember loving the Merlin series by T. A. Barron? but I don't remember how it stands up to time. And the Artemis Fowl books are always a delight.
