raven was still getting used to the boat’s constant shifting and while she hadn’t wound up with seasickness the water’s constant rocking still brought her a sense of unease. the others had been welcoming despite the things that she had done, the things that she had been forced to do, but the nagging thought that someone could just push her in and she’d be helpless lingered in the back of her mind.
she shook herself from the morbid thought and a sigh escaped her before she turned back to focus on the task in front of her. luna hadn’t asked for her expertise, if anything they had all encouraged her to begin anew, but the rig wouldn’t keep afloat if basic repairs were neglected.
at the sound of approaching footsteps raven leaned back in her chair, fingers laced behind her head as she let out another long, drawn-out and dramatic sigh. she assumed it was another child, one that wanted to tell relay another sweet message in trig, perhaps even one that wanted to see her brace up close, but remained facing forward as a smile crept across her lips.
