Day two, i want to reach 1000 observed cs rounds for my emergent leadership paper today.

Afterwards i will fetch our small one and go groceryshopping. Afterwards i'll prepare some chilli con carne for our guests this evening. (My husband and i got to play some schafkopf 😊)

Got another meeting with one of my change management peers tomorrow but there will be no dop post as i have duty on my kiddo tomorrow.

Day 1/100

Today i'll watch some more of my videos for new observational data for my 3rd paper. At 12 i have a online meeting with my change community and at 17:30 i meet my old mentor from BMW.

I am in the last phase of my phd, already prepping to find a job outside academia afterwards. The perfect opportunity to start a 100dop challenge. As i have a little 14 month old son, weekends are out of the game.

About me:

I am a Management Researcher at a rather unknown Uni in Munich. I have a bachelors in Psychology, worked for two years as strategic procurer and afterwards made a switch to a Master of Business Management. Now i am a scientific researcher at the chair of strategic management.

I teach strategic management, change management, Masters seminar and advise for bachelor and master thesises of my students.

Also i am external lecturer at my old uni for statistics and scientific methods.

I am here since September 2021 and got my baby son in June 2025.

Current status of my cumultative dissertation:

- First paper about external digital networking published at EMJ

- Second paper Under Review at IJMR (for 6 months already)

- Recieving observational data from watching Cs videos for my third paper (on emergent leadership)

Next steps:

- Data analysis and finish writing paper 3

- Writing my dissertation frame

Current status of my job search:

- finding out what my options are and what i want

- talking to a lot of mentors and interesting people from my network

I love academia. I wish i could stay here, but as i want to stay at munich because of our family - there is no way becoming a professor and have to move somewhere.

+ personal quest: loosing 8 kg i gained through and held after my pregnancy

I want to finish my dissertation till January.

Stuff i have to do till then:

- finish data collection for study 3

- analyze data from study 3

- finish writing of study 3

- adjust study 3 for desired journal

- survive the feedbackloops with my prof

- get an 'under review' for study 3

- writing the framing for my dissertation

- bind it and hand it in

Stuff i want to do till then:

- read about another topic i want to add to my framing for my dissertation

- learn python and successfully write 3 programs

- set up some KI agents tohelp my personal growth

And like...

Ok, us students, we spend what, a minimum four years of undergrad (in my case, 6), minimum two years of master's (in my case, 3), and then minimum four years of PhD (in my case, 6 again) writing student papers showing that you've read and understood the materials.

THAT'S WHAT I'VE LEARNED HOW TO WRITE BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT I'VE BEEN TAUGHT FOR (6+4+6=) 15 YEARS!!!

Ok, ok, not all of those years of grad school are coursework, so let's say 6 years of undergrad coursework, one year of master's coursework and two years of PhD coursework, plus candidacy exams, so let's call that three: 6+1+3= 10. That's still a decade of perfecting the art of getting an A+ on a student paper.

So now, suddenly, after spending a decade perfecting the art of getting an A+ on my student papers (which I got very good at, thank you very much) I'm supposed to not "write like a student paper"??

WITH ZERO GUIDANCE ON WHAT DISSERTATION LEVEL WRITING IS SUPPOSED TO BE INSTEAD??
