FIRST CHAPTER IS OUT NOW! CHECK IT OUT!
Sebastian Michaelis, in an attempt to sate the lulls between worthwhile contracts, has had many jobs in the human world; chef, butler, assassin, jockey, the list goes on. Each one has helped him learn more about the intricacies of mankind, which in turns helps him manipulate them better.
Some years ago he decided to try fostering; helping broken children gave him better insight of modern man, and how best to manipulate them once they reach adulthood (as children souls are tasteless and lacking). He plans to find them as adults, many years down the line, to break their trust with him and devour their souls the moment they shatter. But then he’s placed with the most complicated boy he’s ever seen—a boy named Ciel—everything changes. Why does he genuinely want this child to heal? To succeed? To smile, to laugh, to live a long life and pass away peacefully.
Is this what humans call feeling “paternal”?

Modern Days with Demonic Solutions! Consider it an Alternative History of modern day, as I would rather die than try to have it be exactly like the present. If I was forced to put an idea of a "year"... the Switch 2 has not been announced yet but Repo and Peak, the multiplier games, exist.
I hope that is as confusing for you as it is me. I am not here for super mega realism. I want to have fun and hopefully other people will have fun as well <3

This was a doozy to start, and woo boy am I already having fun planning out the next chapters!
Chapter Two is currently being drafted.
Chapters Three to Six are planned, but need to be outlined.
Goal is a chapter a month. They will be long. I would apologize but honestly? It's good practice for me and I'm having fun which is what matters most to me.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My goal with this story is to show the nastier aspects of the trauma stemming from CSA, especially when seen in children. I noticed that many fanfictions tend to shy away from the more "messy" reactions or are more careful when discussing the horrors Ciel went through.
I love those fanfiction, I truly do, but sometimes I need something that punches me in the gut. Too many of the ones that might take a more messy route end up being seb//ciel... and I hate that.
To give a clear explanation on how this will work... every chapter will have their own content warnings in the author's note, so take heed. Depending on how the trauma is being discussed, it will either be in a "you should read or else you're missing out" way or it will be a "this is an optional read, skipping won't make you miss anything" way.
When it comes to the second way, there will be a divider that specifically states the next portion of writing is completely optional, and it will have a clear end so you can get to the next part.
If the characters are talking about the abuse in real time, such as Ciel and Sebastian talking about an aspect of the CSA, that counts as the first way. If it's during a nightmare or flashback, it will be the second way and they will ALWAYS BE OPTIONAL TO READ!
I will never write anything super explicit; I will use metaphors and similes that get across more horrific events. That is the approach I take when it comes to my own poetry. It will still be a gut-punch, however. Please, please, please focus on your own mental health, okay?

tl;dr - Sebastian is a demonic foster parent who ends up loving the child in his care and eventually plans to adopt him. The story will have some upsetting moments but I will do my best to give warnings and have moments that are optional to skip.
