Silly little headcanon I have is that the Phantom survived the sniper shot because of their disguise's pocket handkerchief.

Based on Physician George E. Goodfellow's autopsies of shootings where folded up silk handkerchiefs impeded a bullet's travel. The victims would still usually end up dying, but the handkerchief would end up catching the bullets, either preventing some of the shots' penetration or traveling with some into the wound.

Probably wouldn't stop a sniper bullet, but with ace attorney logic, maybe just enough to help prevent a fatal wound with modern medical assistance.

(and to add a phantombright tinge to it, it really messes with Phantom that they were technically saved by Bobby in an indirect way).
