Brotherhood of Evil Mutants: Phantazia - 59

I like the character Phantazia.

Great design, cool powers, just explained enough to make sense, while keeping the story open.

But I don't think she's Eileen Harsaw. No, that is the cover name for someone we know well.

Yup. Doctor Valerie Cooper. Let me explain:

After the Muir Island Saga, the Shadow King's assault on her mind and her near death experience gave her suppressed mutant powers to come to light, saving her at the last moment. (She shot herself in the head to protect Mystique)

Unable to cope with the truth that she is a mutant, Val's psyche fractures, then creates an alternate ego (Eileen Harsaw) and this ego is the complete opposite of her day persona. Instead of working for the government, Phantazia works for any mutant group invested in furthering the cause of mutant-kind. Especially if their methods are more aggressive. Thus why we meet her with Toad's (brief) incarnation of the Brotherhood in X-Men Unlimited (Volume 1) Issue 2. As an aside, she appears before this, but this was where I met her first.

Side note: Exodus owes Pyro a big apology for the way he treated him here.

Havok and Madelyne Pryor have their busy week in Limbo Embassy as they deal with paperwork, mutants, non-mutants, visiting relatives and more demons in Limbo. Also, not even Limbo Embassy accepts the amnesty from the neo-nazi Fenris Twins, they should be fed to demons in Limbo dimension instead.

This takes place before the fateful Hellfire Gala disaster.
