Patron, the mine-sniffing Ukrainian dog, fell asleep during a press conference. 

If the Madrigal kids had pets (besides Antonio’s animals) this is what I imagine them having

Isabela- I see her having a cat like Duchess from Disney’s “The Aristocats” it’s a very well behaved cat she’s trained. Isabela likes cuddling her cat when it’s time for bed, and her cat is always there for her when she’s upset.

Dolores- I feel like Dolores would have a rabbit, it’s quiet and calm and makes virtually no noise. She likes sitting with her rabbit on her lap and watching her rabbit move its ears around to different noises. Then she’ll start talking to the rabbit like “what is it? What’d you hear?” One of her favorite ways to fall asleep is listening to her rabbit’s tiny breaths as it sleeps.

Luisa- I feel like Luisa would have something like a dog but a very affectionate one, or a hamster. If it’s a dog she likes playing outside with them and cuddling when she’s laying down. The dog also follows her around when she’s doing her chores and she plays with it while doing them. It’s also a great help when she needs to herd some animals. With that hamster she finds it funny when it’s running around in their little ball following her. She likes to do her chores with her hamster sitting comfortably on her shoulder and it’s just this cute little fuzzy thing. I can just see her holding them in her hands and nuzzling them. (If she could though luisa would totally have a pet unicorn she would care for that thing like it was a god)

Camilo- I’ve seen a bunch of things relating Camilo to a chameleon and I’m gonna go along with that. When everyone else tries to find his chameleon they can never find it but Camilo always knows right where they are. Antonio will be trying to find the chameleon to play with but tells Camilo that their no where to be found, to which Camilo will just reach his hand to the wall next to him and pull his chameleon off the wall. Camilo likes watched their eyes move around looking at everything.

Mirabel wouldn’t say it’s her official pet but she takes very good care of the butterflies that inhabit the encanto. Leaving plates of oranges out for them, and leaving a flower bed outside her window with a bunch of branches for them to rest on. Family members sometimes have a hard time trying to figure out if the butterflies on Mirabel are real or are accessories.

Antonio has nothing but pets and he knows how to take care of them to his best ability, he knows which bird out of the whole flock that needs a certain type of food, and which ant in the whole colony that needs help getting around. They all have names and certain personality’s and he remembers every single one.
