So you watched h50 when it was still airing, right? I'm finishing season 10 and there is a few things I've been wondering that only people who's been here back then would now.
Was the last season of h50 announced as the final season, or they decided in the middle or the ending of the season? I feel like there is Steve's behavior from episode 18 to 19.
And did they try to have Cole replace Steve before getting canceled? I read Alex had got several injuries from playing Steve over the years and wanted to leave, but would've they try to continue h50 without him.
Sorry about the bad English, I'm really curious about the context of the ending.
Sorry I'm late responding. I'm a disorganized noodle🫠 Also, never apologize for your English - you're doing awesome and English is hard♥️
I am going to go into a lot of detail, so I'm putting this under a cut.
Hawaii Five O vs 9-1-1
@baddygab-bi posted comparing Buddie canon to H50 McDanno
As a fan of both pairings, I tend to think it's important to look at their respective showrunners.
This is Peter Lenkov. Racist, misogynous, and mean, he was finally fired by CBS in 2020. He was queerbaiting the whole time, for ratings, while constantly throwing actresses at Alex and Scott.
Time Minear, on the other hand, while clearly not perfect, has no apparent problem with actually writing LGBTQ characters and characters of color.
Blood brothers? Dumbest thing I've read in ages. He is implying that gay characters can't have mutual respect? He is a homophobic ass. A dinosaur who knows nothing about gay relationships because he was never interested in McDanno. All he did was destroying the characters. He made Danny the comic-relief sidekick of a Teflon hero. For him, the over-the-top action counted more than any character development. And he loved to thrive on toxic relationships.
Concernig s11, it was him who pointed out, he knew that s10 would probably the last season. Now he suffers Alzheimers it seems...
I don't understand why fans still believe these lies... He got booted by CBS for his abusive behaviors OVER DECADES. He also went on a rant about Lucas. What a lying sack of sh** he is!
Sorry for venting
Actually seeing some of those texts from Peter? Yeah, Lucas is also trash. 🤷🏽♀️

MacRiley
Here’s how Peter Lenkov would have ended the show.
P.S MacRiley was an endgame in Peter’s version too.
I noticed that there are AT LEAST 3 different references to the OG Magnum PI in Hawaii 5-0 through seasons 1-9, and all of them makes it clear that Magnum PI is a beloved and popular TV show, but then season 10 came along, and suddenly Magnum PI no longer exists as a show in the Hawaii 5-0 universe, completely out of the blue.
Either that, or no one made any jokes or references to this highly liked and classical TV show, towards the private investigator with the same name who lives on Oahu and drives a red Ferrari... which is tbh the most unlikely of these two options
I don’t know if this is hilarious or just really weird
I have some thoughts regarding CBS firing Peter Lenkov.
First of all YAY! IT’S ABOUT FUCKING TIME! HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIRED AGES AGO!
HOnestly this explains so much and thinking about it makes me sick. It explains all the massive amount of queerbaiting, the way the female team members were portrayed and treated (rewatching the first few seasons and how every man grossly hits on and harasses Kono is disgusting), why some of the actors were more prevalent in press than others, why two POC leads left the show, why another lead was in half the episodes, and why another lead decided to leave the show. IT EXPLAINS SO MUCH AND IT SICKENS ME
I didn’t know that much about what kind of environment he made at work but I am not at all surprised by it. He’s a jerk on social media and all the comments made by the cast members had always rubbed me the wrong way. I don’t like him. Never have. I liked that he brought these shows to life but as a person he’s a nightmare. I just wish it wasn’t too late for H50. It’s over now and nothing can be fixed. The plots that were turned into crap will stay like that, the cast and crew will never get to know a better work environment. Hearing what it was like honestly makes me sick. fuck him so much.
This makes me wonder though. If he had been fired even just a season ago would we have a season 11? Would Scott be in every episode? Would Scott have been involved in the pre season press? Would Grace and Daniel have stayed? Would our finale be better? I’ll always wonder now.
While it’s too late to help the cast, crew, and storylines of Hawaii Five-0, it’s not too late for both MacGyver and Magnum P.I. and I am glad they’re going to get away from Lenkov and his horridness. I don’t watch MacGyver but I do watch Magnum and I could already feel it starting to suffer from his, now very very apparent, sexism and countless other bullshit. I hope that now that he is gone and these two shows have new/promoted showrunners these shows will only improve. Mark Guggenheim does all the DC shows. And I know Eric did a lot of H50 and Magnum already so I’m sure he’ll do a good job.
Anyway, this gives me a lot of thoughts and feels and I’m both stunned and not at all surprised. Either way I’m thrilled he’s gone.
Good luck to MacGyver and Magnum with their new showrunners! May all the cast and crew enjoy a better work environment and better treatment!!!
