I never liked turtles

until one day my mom

brought one home for me

without a notice.

Ever since,

I have never skipped a day

to take him in my lap

and help him nap there.

Somehow, I still wonder

how something

I could never imagine loving

could become

so close to me.

I never liked reptiles

to begin with,

but now,

I might adopt fifty babies.

This is what love does to you, I guess,

it changes your view

of something so new,

something you never knew

you could love.

Perhaps, that's the strange thing about love,

it doesn't always arrive

in the form you picture,

And In my case

Its a tiny

shell-bearing

creature.

I love writing about my baby 😭😭
