Hey, people who may read this and have any experience with running an AO3 account. Just gotta ask this right here to reach more people, but how do you handle death threats from guest commenters?
Just got one today. It's kinda disheartening but I'm honestly more concerned about asking if there's a way to report this incident or if I should just lock my fics so only people with accounts can comment on it and make it easier to weed out people who do this kind of crap. I'll delete it soon but I just want to know if there's a way to really weed this person out.
They did left a name and it does lead to an AO3 account but we cannot be completely sure it's the same person as the one telling me to go kys 😒. For one thing, they don't write for or bookmark any fics from MLB (the only fandom that I am vocal enough in to have anyone that may have beef with me) and they mostly write smut. I still blocked their account, nothing lost on either side if they turn out to be innocent and unfortunately framed anyway (cause what's the point of doing this as a guest only to still place your name, but then again they may be that dumb).
