First time he meets the Bats? (tell me when Bruce freaked him out or well, unleash your feels dude)
I feel like absolutely no one is surprised that PeterĀ āohmygoditās [INSERT SUPERHERO/VIGILANTE NAME HERE]ā Parker absolutely freaked out and fangirled on the inside.Ā
Their canon meeting went like you expect;
Surprise bitch, he did end up needing Peterās help.
There was a level of thinking done when he set foot on Gotham, this was the Batās playing ground after all. And just like in the next comic Peter knew the second Ra and Talia set foot on NY, a new red clad vigilante was going to be noticed quickly the cityās main protector. He thought he had prepared for it, that itād be fine, no big deal. Heād just explain what he was for, hope he wouldnāt have to fight his way out of this one, move on, do his job, go back to New York.
However the second he actually saw him it was like a cold chill went through his whole body. This man was above a hero, above your run of the mill Vigilante. He is considered a legend everywhere. And there is no shortage of people in the world who tell the stories of Batman and his Robin. (If we go by the comic books my own headcanon is that he possibly met Bruce after Jason died, hence no Robin or mention of him.) The Bat is a person you fear, a person you respect, but most importantly- the person you stay clearly away from unless you want your ass handed back at you.Ā
Itās like he stopped breathing for a second or two, before spidey senses force him to move out of the way of an attack or get decked in the face and make a fool of yourself in front of a person you come to admire.Ā
When Bruce kicked him out it felt.... horrible, like heād failed yet again to impress someone he looked up to. Not that itās any news to him, it happens all the time. He considers leaving, and only sticks around because someone calls out for help.
And then.... then the weirdest thing happens and Bruce actually comes and asks him to get into the Batmobile and they ride together.
Every part of Peter is shaking with excitement. Heās riding side to side with THE BATMAN. HE IS IN THE BATMOBILE! This is better than any Christmas or Birthday present he could have gotten as a kid. Itās all hidden under his layers of sass for self protection but by god if he is not jumping with joy. Hands quietly feeling the seat, the door- itās all real, itās all there, itās not a dream. But it canāt be real.
They team up, they kick Jokerās and Carnageās ass and itās time for Peter to go back. They stand around in awkward silence on top of a rooftop somewhere. Peter is hoping he will remember all of this, wishes he could have brought his camera just to keep this one- just to himself. So he can wake up in the morning and be reassured that this happened. That it wasnāt such a dream.
By the end they shake hands, a simple gesture, but the most meaningful one that could be given between these two men.
Peter goes back home, to Queens, to his quiet appartment, and he peels off his suit. The bruises are all there- they hurt when he pokes at them. So it must have happened, nothing hurts in a dream. Heās staring down at the glove that Batman shook and heās grinning like a child. Starts laughing like one too and has tears in his eyes. Because by god... he met The Legend.Ā
He wakes up and the bruises are still there, still tender to the touch, and thereās a post-it note on his nightstand in his own handwritting.Ā
āYES YOU DID MEET /HIM/ YESTERDAY/ AND HE SHOOK YOUR HAND.ā
The entire rest of the month everyone swears Peter looks happier than he ever has, and no one can figure out why.
