listening to: ‘good news,’ by k.flay, and the rinderpest episode of this podcast will kill you
eating: an incredibly sexy recipe for sausage + chorizo tortellini with a spicy tomato and spinach sauce. my kitchen smells like how italian restaurants want you to believe italy smells. i’ll try the recipe again soon, with some tweaks i’ve been thinking about, and then maybe post it?
shh, these are yesterday’s pictures! i didn’t get much done today, or at least not for uni-- i did a lot of reading and research into a health issue affecting my family, which was distracting. the research was helpful, but i think i’ve reached the point where it’s worrying me more than it’s calming me down; tomorrow i’ll try to distract myself, and get some more review done!
khan academy is becoming a problem. i keep opening it to do something, and then it’ll say ‘you’re 25% away from mastery of differential calculus!’ or ‘don’t you want to learn about the mean value theorem?’ and i’ll do that instead of the other subjects i need to be studying. khan academy has successfully gamified calculus, and it’s too effective.
hey, mathblr who write in cursive-- i have a question for you. when you write variables, do you print them, or do you use the same handwriting? when you write the product of two variables, like ‘ab,’ do you join them up? i’ve noticed that sometimes i print them, and sometimes i write them cursive but separate, and occasionally i’ll join them up, but it doesn’t look quite right. i’m curious about how other people write things.
