PEPPER STEAK IN A CROCK POT
INGREDIENTS:
- 2 POUNDS BEEF SIRLOIN, CUT INTO 2-INCH STRIPS
- 3/4 TEASPOON GARLIC POWDER
- 3 TABLESPOONS VEGETABLE OIL
- 1 BEEF BOUILLON CUBE
- 1/4 CUP HOT WATER
- 1 TABLESPOON CORNSTARCH
- 1/2 CUP CHOPPED ONION
- 2 LARGE GREEN BELL PEPPERS, ROUGHLY CHOPPED
- 1 (14.5 OUNCE) CAN STEWED TOMATOES, WITH LIQUID
- 3 TABLESPOONS SOY SAUCE
- 1 TEASPOON WHITE SUGAR
- 1 TEASPOON SALT
DIRECTIONS:
1. SEASON BEEF STRIPS WITH GARLIC POWDER.
2. HEAT VEGETABLE OIL IN A LARGE SKILLET OVER MEDIUM HEAT AND SEAR BEEF STRIPS UNTIL LIGHTLY BROWNED, ABOUT 5 MINUTES PER SIDE.
3. TRANSFER BEEF TO A CROCK POT.
4. DISSOLVE BEEF BOUILLON CUBE IN HOT WATER AND MIX IN CORNSTARCH UNTIL SMOOTH. POUR OVER BEEF IN CROCK POT.
5. ADD CHOPPED ONION, GREEN BELL PEPPERS, STEWED TOMATOES WITH THEIR LIQUID, SOY SAUCE, WHITE SUGAR, AND SALT TO THE CROCK POT. STIR TO COMBINE.
6. COVER AND COOK ON HIGH FOR 3 TO 4 HOURS OR ON LOW FOR 6 TO 8 HOURS, UNTIL BEEF IS TENDER.
7. SERVE OVER RICE OR NOODLES.

Pepper Steak ~ Don't Lose This Recipe!! 😋
Ingredients
1 tablespoon vegetable oil divided use
1 red bell pepper cored, seeded and cut into strips
1 green bell pepper cored, seeded and cut into strips
1 1/4 pounds flank steak thinly sliced
2 teaspoons minced garlic
1 teaspoon minced ginger
salt and pepper to taste
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 1/2 tablespoons sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
Instructions
Heat 1 teaspoon of the vegetable oil over medium high heat in a large pan.
Add the peppers and cook for 3-4 minutes or until just tender. Remove the peppers from the pan and place on a plate.
Add the remaining oil to the pan. Season the flank steak with salt and pepper to taste.
Increase heat to high. Add the steak to the pan and cook for 5-6 minutes or until lightly browned.
Add the garlic and ginger, then cook for 30 seconds.
Place the peppers back in the pan with the steak.
In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, sugar, 1/4 cup water and cornstarch.
Pour the sauce over the steak mixture and bring to a simmer. Cook for 2-3 minutes or until sauce has just thickened.
This tender filet steak makes a simple yet sophisticated dinner for two after spending an hour in a marinade that includes tamari sauce, sugar, garlic, and crushed black peppercorns.

It definitely does feel "off" and empty; I keep waiting for something to jump out and scare me from around a corner but nothing does, or at least nothing has YET
