this took forever but im finally done with this lineup oughh the Meryl Jack is a small cargo ship crew who traverses back and forth from neopia to krawk island. EDIT: forgot to include extra text
One of my peophins - Hjarnvail. Someone threw his elderly pet rock into the ocean and he's not happy about it.
Yeahhh I'm DEFINITELY not avoiding the stuff I have to do by drawing my neopets. that's 100% NOT happening.
I asked my bestie to suggest another Neopet for me to draw, and ended up drawing one of her top favs: the Royal Girl Peophin! (Sorry for the reupload; I have no idea why the original post had such a miniscule image lol)
A photo of me! ☻

Review of the Candy Peophin and the Burlap Ruki?
Candy Peophin: Candy pets can be pretty hit-or-miss, but this is really cute and I can't help but like it. Making a candy pet based off a gummy can run the risk of making it too much like jelly as a colour...except as I found out while writing this, a jelly Peophin apparently isn't a thing yet, so maybe it's not a risk!
Anyway, I like the general execution here. The colors are nice and gummy-worm-ish without being too terribly close to the rainbow Peophin, and there's some nice details, like the rounded-off hair and the gummy worm stripes on the tail.
Honestly, my only real issue with it...is that the resolution looks super crunchy for some inexplicable reason (look at that tail!). I can only assume it's not like that on the actual pet as most of them use SVGs, but it's still kind of head-scratching.
Burlap Ruki: This one I'm...a bit more mixed on. While I generally like the creepier burlap pets, I'm not opposed to the cute ones, and I really like the general idea here. The patterned floral patches are well-placed and very charming, and I like the rope details around the waist and antennae. The bug eyes also lend themselves well to the buttons; I think I would've preferred green for the eyes instead of blue, but that's not a big deal.
So why don't I absolutely love this? Simple: the rendering looks like it was done by an unpaid intern. Seriously, look at this and then look at other burlap pets:
The actual burlap texture is not only too small and subtle, but if you look closely, it doesn't actually warp or conform to the body contours at all. The same goes for the floral patterns; completely flat, no bend to them at all. And on top of the lack of contours and texturing, there's also an odd...I can't say lack of shading as there is some, but there's not much and it's not very dark.
Basically, this doesn't look like a finished colour so much as a rough concept someone whipped together and then never was given time to actually finish. Disappointing.
You wouldn’t last a second in the asylum where they raised me
The Mighty Peophin https://www.neopets.com/art/gallery.phtml?place=3773 When I was a kid I saw the Mighty Peophin weapon and armour set and IMMEDIATELY rushed off to make one, thinking they were the COOLEST things ever, only to find out the Robot Peophin doesn't reflect the set at all! Here's my take on what could have been.
