We had an hour long conversation me no #Greek, him no English, about tools, marble, carving and #sculptures My new favourite place. The chisels are much cheaper than the UK and look a better quality. Can’t wait to start with them on the #Pentelic #PentelicMarble #EverythingIsConnected Next stop @nordiamarble to order the stone. I’m still up for deposits of £250, to help me kickstart the project then a £500 final payment + shipping for one of the finished sculptures. That’s half price of what I’ll retail them at the end. Massively productive day today #Stonecarving #PentelicMarble from @nordiamarble This is by far the best stone I’ve used. It’s starting to come into its own as I get to the finishing stages. Loaded with history the #Parthenon, many buildings on the #Acropolis, lots of #Sculptures in #Athens and #Rome are made from this stuff. Really looking forward to getting to the polish stages. **Sculpture Update** I’ve moved into my new studio. I now need to build a couple of banker/carving tables and replace some tools. As I have a few galleries interested in my work here in Athens, the retail price for individual pieces this size, going through them when the project is complete, will be £3,000 each.
