Pentatonic?
Listen up. A pentatonic scale is a scale of five notes instead of 7.
As an example, for C scale, the pentatonic scale would be C-D-E-G-A. Why that?
Well, try to make a chord with just F and B, it will sounds awfully bad. It has a nameโฆ that i canโt tell you in English, but its French equivalent is accord de triton.
So when you remove these two notes, it makes a ยซย perfectย ยป scale, with only ยซย well-soundingย ยป chords.
Thatโs the meaning between Pentatonic and thanks to my music theory teacher for making me realize it today.
