"Sorrowful be the heart, Penitent One."
Sculpture of the Penitent One/Penitente from the Blasphemous games. I felt like he would be fun to sculpt when watching playthroughs, and I was right. Made mostly of earthenware clay, with the addition of epoxy putty, wire, and acrylic paints.
The face-helmet, his main distinguishing feature, was great fun to do. I thought it would be harder, but I managed to get the whole face part looking pretty good in around twenty minutes, actually. Helps if it's really just the facial features, no surrounding head geometry, and if it doesn't need to look like a real person's face besides.
Cloth is always a challenge. I feel like this one turned out all right, though.
I made another post detailing the sword, but I've made a few improvements since then anyway. It wasn't as hard to make as I thought it would be, though the thorns were a little tricky.
I cut some serious corners with this one. I don't like how the hand is floating free, and I simply didn't touch the filigree he's supposed to have on the pauldron. Heck, though, I've been too busy with other things, and I made this on a whim anyway. I'd likely have simply made a bigger one if I had more time. As it is now, time for the next project.
Enjoy the Penitente!
