the way a root dreams of rain

deep in the dry earth,

hungry, restless, burning only when you come near.

Not only your dark eyes,

but the quiet world you hide behind them

a garden no one else has seen,

a night full of soft secrets.

I am a dreamer.

A thirsty, lonely soul in the wide desert,

walking under a hard sun,

waiting for the drops of your love to fall on my cracked skin

so I can survive one more day, one more night.

I wait for my rare black rose

To open her petals in my empty hands,
