#pebblepaw

We will be seeing much more of Prickle and Pebble in the coming moons so hopefully I can show and not tell, but I do love talking about/discussing my characters so I'll gladly say some stuff about these guys for whoever is interested.

Pebblepaw and Pricklepaw are the closest with each other out of anyone in the Clan and were quite similar as kits, but in growing up they've carved out their own unique personalities.

Pricklepaw is mild-mannered, well-meaning and eager to do well and impress his clanmates, especially his very busy deputy-and-leader parents. He's developed a strong emotional intelligence and likes being someone people come to to vent or be listened to/chat. He's very loyal and if you ask him to keep a secret, he will take it to his grave. He definitely has his frustrations and gets upset but would rather not show it, because he likes to be reliable and a rock for others. He's big on hunting and climbing, but Flametangle also identified that he, like his mother, is a talented fighter. Pricklepaw is definitely quite a peaceable guy and not all that into battle-training, but he'll learn it as long as it's helpful to his Clan.

Pebblepaw is more confident and outspoken than Pricklepaw, definitely less polite and more prone to emotional extremes, both highs and lows. He's witty, exciteable and adventurous. He loves secrets but unlike his brother, he's a bit of a gossip. He lovesss a good game though he's not necessarily competitive in a sore-loser way. He just likes an excuse for a little adventure. He isn't necessarily totally charmed by hunting or battle-training but is happy to do them as long as it means he gets to explore the territory, which he loves to do with anyone who will join him.

Both Prickle and Pebble, especially Pebble, have been shocked by their first intense experience of grief with Oakfall. They don't remember Umberswirl all that well, and while they were saddened by her death, they didn't quite understand what had happened when she died.

Pebblepaw is obviously affected by Oakfall's death because of his prophetic dream and her being his mentor. He's been lashing out in anger about it to anyone who tries to comfort him, besides maybe Pricklepaw. His anger at his parents doesn't come from nowhere, but it's much more borne from his devastation than from any particular grievance he has with them. He blames himself for not having understood the dream or taken it as seriously as he could have, and is now deadset on paying full attention to his apparent prophetic gift.

Though we won't see as much of his reaction (btw guys you have no idea how much I would love to show in depth stuff for all our characters and plotlines but I don't think I could achieve that and also if I did, the pacing of this comic would be awful) Pricklepaw was also very shaken by Oakfall's death. However, given his habit of bottling things up, next to Pebblepaw's more honest emotional responses, Pricklepaw's changes aren't noticed as readily. He becomes more withdrawn and anxious, and more serious. This isn't helped by Flametangle being his mentor, as Flame is also in the throes of grief and isn't able to be there for Pricklepaw the way he would ideally be as a mentor. Sunstar is picking up on some of Pricklepaw's training on days where Flame can't.

I don't really have any opinions on him. I guess I see him as kind of cocky?
