THE BE HONEST MEME Β Β / Β Β ACCEPTING.
2. Are aesthetics important to you? If they are, why?
Β Β Β Β Β Answered here. π»
3.Β Do you prefer writing male muses or female more? Why?
Β Β Β Β Β I like writing both but I have a heavy preferences for female muses. I just think women are neat! Also, while I was growing up, I noticed that mainstream media is almost always often catered to the male gaze. I know this is slowly changing now, but womenβs stories in the past are skewed through this lens and theyβre not always told properly as a result. I am a woman and I am very attached to my femininity and I want to tell womenβs stories, especially female fictional characters who are often propped up for man pain ( see: Lyanna Stark ) or female characters who are treated as other / monstrous / or on their way to becoming to becoming monstrous ( see: Carrie White, Ilsa Flynn, Abigail Hobbs, Circe, Ariadne, Shiera Seastar ) or female characters who are competent in fields usually dominated by men ( see: Sharon Carter, Johanna Mason, Inej Ghafa, Zoya Nazyalensky ) or female characters who are also eldritch horrors ( see: Zisa ) or female characters who rise alive and victorious against all odds ( Alina Starkov, Hua Mulan ) or basically... female characters in varying degrees of femininity, strength, weakness, etc etc.Β
Β Β Β Β Β I just think thereβs so much more to tell than whatβs already been told, and womenβs experiences are so unique because of sooo many variables that itβs always interesting not just to attempt to tell it, but also to just sit with it and think about it. Male muses have some good stories in them too, but Iβm very rarely drawn to them immediately. It always involves some intense mental acrobatics on my part. But female muses... good stuff. Whenever I see or hear or read about female characters in media, the reaction in me is always visceral, and I think thatβs why I prefer writing them more.Β
19.Β Do you delete anon hate or post and address it? Why?
Β Β Β Β Β Β I haven't gotten anon hate on this blog but if I do, I'll just ignore it. I pretend I do not see. I cannot perceive cowards, I'm sorry, please try again ( or don't, tbh ).
22.Β What would make you block someone?
Β Β Β Β Β I block people very liberally these days. If I feel like their content would make me anxious, I block them. It's nothing personal, really. But if we're talking like... what would it take for me to block a mutual? A lot. I mostly block people I'm not following, because if I'm following you it then means I do like you / your content or at least what I have seen of it. I think what really gets me these days is duplicate hate, or passive-aggression towards duplicates. I just do not vibe with that at all. I understand duplicate anxiety, I do. But I don't like people purposely making others feel bad for writing the same muse. The RPC is small enough as it is without someone doing that. Also, the other reasons would be any type of bigotry or predatory behavior. I feel like that goes without saying hehe.
