PORTLAND: Looking for professional feedback on your comics art? My monthly Office Hours session at Books with Pictures is THIS FRIDAY, Oct 6, 4-6PM. Show me 6-8 pages of comics storytelling. I'll give you honest feedback based on my 30 years in comics. I'll tell you what works, what doesn't, how to adjust things for clarity or impact, tips for saving labor- stuff to help reach your goals as a storyteller. I'm not there to hire you, read your pitch, or intro you to a publisher. I'm there to talk about the pages you've drawn. I only do comics pages because that's what I know. Scripts, illustrations, design, posters? Not my lane. I do this in-person only, not online. It's fine if you work digitally, but BRING PRINTOUTS if at all possible. It is WAY easier to critique work on paper than on screen. I can scribble notes right on your panels, or lay tracing paper on top of them, and we won't have to deal with any battery or app glitches. If the weather holds, we'll be outdoors. If indoors, I'll be masked. Also? It's free. Just bring your portfolio! Books With Pictures is at 1401 SE Division.
