hey invader zim fandom, so i like zim angst as much as the next guy buuuut am i the only one that thinks a little too hard about these threes implied backstory together from red and purples pov and how kinda screwed up it is.

you were once trainees alongside one of the smallest irkens. you likely underestimated him. maybe you were even friends. you sometimes find him funny, even now.

there's a chance you two didn't expect to become the tallest, ever, because there were tallest in line before you. miyuki and spork. maybe you'd even die before they did, if you're going to be put into battle. your pak destroyed by an enemy, what a Way to Go.

but then the smallest irken kills them. he denies this. its like he doesn't even care about the two before you. if he cared, he would take responsibility. he'd apologize. but he doubles down. he doesn't take accountability in any way or form. he even quits his own exile like it was a mere job or even a vacation, not a punishment.

and then he lavishes his attention on you.

you two are his tallest.

you have the leash to the most dangerous irken in the universe and even though you're now the leaders (even though you might've once been friends or more) , even though there's such a class difference --- he's so short and you're so tall....

ZaTR:Zim x tak, personally?, I don’t mind it. I can’t see it working out in canon. And for it TOO work out, I think it’d be slow burn. Neither of them seem to have romance on their mind. I think the only way for it to become healthy is for tak to come to terms with everything and maybe even see how incompetent the tallest are and none of this stuff is really worth it and she should move on (NOT AT ALL BLAMING TAK) and for Zim to maybe not be so ermmm Zim/silly/hj

I think for this to work however, slowburn to the max, the tallest are assholes. Zim is delulu. I think if the tallest actually started caring about their subjects in general and Zim stopped just being delusional this could work (???)
