On Pay Check:
I was in my first ever relationship while writing Pay Check, and I wrote Grace/Tom’s relationship the way I wished I was being treated.
Full of empathy, support and patience, without a crushing, pressured emphasis on physicality and the overall warm feeling of someone genuinely enjoying your company.
The things that I did not experience, that I craved, I gave to two characters that I thought could have done with those things in another life.
If you read Pay Check with this lens on, you will see me slowly fall out of love, become frustrated and hurt and by the end of the fic, you will feel my freedom in the words as I decided I wanted more for myself and LEFT.
