I really like how big and expressive the brush strokes are, and how the light and darkness builds up to form a face. The way the artist is able to capture movement and light in the eyes is really impressive to me and just breathes life into the figures.

Paul Wright: Dous amigos
Debsey of Dolly Mixture, The Marquee May 1981
‘Debsey Wykes of Dolly Mixture, at the Marquee club, London, May 1981.
Dolly Mixture, had a Top 30 single performing backing vocals for the Captain Sensible's hit "Wot" and a UK No. 1 hit backing Sensible on his 1982 cover of "Happy Talk".
I used to really like Dolly Mixture, I bought their records and saw them play several times during the early 80s.
The band split-up in 1984.’
