Hi Cyan! Can I ask what do we generally know about Pattadol's magic? I mean every member of the unit has a cool unique specialization but I only remember her casting barriers wich seem to be pretty standard magic... and the fairy too but that's a guard thing methinks since the captain also has one
Hello!
Yes she does barriers and she also does transformation magic on her fairy which I haven't see the other guards use.
I believe she's also the healer, she's the one that revives Mithrun after he gets his head blown which was probably very tricky and Marcille does explain that resurrection should be done by people who specialize in it to avoid complications (Marcille can do it cause she's a genius but even then they avoid doing it when it's not strictly necessary like back in ch2).
So I believe she's the healer/support of the team rather than someone who fights in the front line which makes sense Mithrun is weirdo guard.
Also I think it's fair to remember that in Dungeon Meshi "standard magic" isn't really a thing. The magic users seem all to be very specialized in which kind of magic they use even when they know other types of magic they keep to their specialization unless it's like dire situations. There's exceptions, of course, like Marcille, she had never used offensive magic before coming to the dungeon but managed to learn it really fast cause she's a genius but it would probably be very unlikely for any other magic user to just suddenly learn a whole other type of magic that they aren't specialized in.
(Well there might be some "basic/easier" magic like making light but you know what I mean)
