Here are the 25 individuals presented in the United States Postal Service's "Figures of the American Revolution" stamp series that they rolled out today for the US Semiquincentennial.

While there are a few more figures I'd like to see here, I'm still pleased with the range of people presented!

Patrick Henry, known for his fiery oratory and famed words “Give me Liberty, or give me Death!” left a small envelope sealed with wax near his last will. Inside was a single sheet of paper on which he had copied his Resolutions against the Stamp Act. On the back, Patrick Henry left this message...

“Whether America's independence will prove a Blessing or a Curse, will depend on the Use our people make of the Blessings which a gracious God hath bestowed on us. If they are wise, they will be great and happy. If they are of a contrary Character, they will be miserable. Righteousness alone can exalt them as a Nation. Reader! whoever thou art, remember this, and in thy Sphere, practice Virtue thyself, and encourage it in others. P. HENRY"

This bust of Patrick Henry is located in the Plaza at the visitor center for RedHill, Patrick Henry’s last home located in Virginia. Patrick Henry was born May 29, in 1736.
