We're blessed enough to have such a diverse audience participation, seeing 40- and 50-year-olds along with 16-year-olds. Nerds and jocks and hippies and preppies, indie-rock kids and punk-rock kids, they all seem to come out to the shows. I don't feel a particular exclusive allegiance to any of them. I think it's part of a greater musical collective.

Looks like Dan Auerbach's solo venture unsurprisingly spawned even more great music. "Spanish Gold is a trio comprised of seasoned musicians in the indie music scene: Patrick Hallahan (My Morning Jacket), Adrian Quesada (Brown Out, Ocote Soul Sounds, and formerly of Groupo Fantasma) and Dante Schwebel (City and Color and formerly of Hacienda), who brought the three together."

There's seriously a huge long list of fantastic goodies to share with you today, my fellow music lovers, so let's jump into it with a brand new tune from Spanish Gold which debuted on USA Today. South of Nowhere is our third taste and the title track off the band's debut album, out soon on May 27. The track continues a brilliant, genre blending sound by the act, fronted by My Morning Jacket's Patrick Hallahan. It's a souflul, jangly, bluesy, indie rock and pop listen. I'm looking forward to catching these guys on tour next month at the Rickshaw Stop in San Francisco. It's going to be a real treat seeing them in the intimate venue before they start playing the more cavernous locales. Out of the tunes we've heard from Spanish Gold, my favorite is still debut song Out On The Street. I can't resist listening to it again. Join me, below.
