In other Patlabor Ezy news, a number of other events and promotions for "File 2" have been announced. First up is a Patlabor Day Commemorative Special Streaming Program "Forward and Backup are always one and the same no matter what!? Asaki's dream and bullet survival!!" which will be streamed on YouTube on 8 August 2026 at 9pm Japanese time. The stream will feature voice actors Mina Tominaga (who played Noa Izumi), Toshio Furukawa (Asuma Shinohara), Sumire Uesaka (Towa Kuga) and Kikunosuke Toya (Kippei Atori) as well as director Yutaka Izubuchi. I do find it interesting that Mina Tominaga and Toshio Furukawa are in this stream. I'm curious if that means Noa and Asuma are appearing in "File 2".
The Bandai Namco Filmworks Channel will be releasing one episode of "Patlabor on Television" on Youtube from 17 July 2026 at 9pm Japanese time daily. All titles will be streamed in Japanese only and no doubt will be geolocked.
In addition, "Patlabor Reboot" is getting a rare streaming release in Japan. It will be available on the Bandai Namco Filmworks Channel on 11 August 2026 from 9pm Japanese time for 24 hours only. Like the TV series, it is likely to stream in Japanese only and will be geolocked to Japan only. From 14 August 2026 onwards, "Patlabor Reboot" will stream exclusively on on the Japanese streaming service U-Next.
Another Patlabor Pop Up Shop will be held at the sixth floor of the Shinjuku Marui Annex from 7 August to 16 August 2026. A wide variety of merchandise will be available. Additional details on the Pop Up Shop will be released in August.
