Behold more magic from the world of Steven Spielberg. This is a working barber shop in downtown Paterson, New Jersey that has been transformed into a vintage storefront for Spielberg’s remake of “West Side Story.” The sign is inspired by the New York of the 1950s, when such charming plastic signs and awnings were commonplace. The set designers have really captured the essence of a bygone era. The barber shop’s actual name is Smooth KreationZ, at 155 Ellison St. How cool would it be if they kept this sign? Today in #history: #HappyBirthday to Alexander Hamilton, who was born #OTD, January 11, 1757. In 1791, with his ideas for manufacturing being a major influence, Hamilton, along several entrepreneurs from New York and Philadelphia helped form the Society for the Establishment of Useful Manufactures (S.U.M.), a private industrial corporation. The location they chose to set up at was the Great Falls of the Passaic River in Paterson, #NewJersey because of its abundant water power.
