For BBQ parties, these smoky bacon baked beans are a great side dish. With a hint of sweetness, the bacon, molasses, and spices in these beans make them taste rich and savory. They will be a hit with everyone once they are baked to perfection.
Ingredients: 4 cans 15 oz each navy beans, drained and rinsed. 1 cup diced bacon. 1 cup finely chopped onion. 1 cup ketchup. 1/2 cup molasses. 1/4 cup brown sugar. 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar. 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard. 1 teaspoon smoked paprika. 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder. Salt and black pepper to taste.
Instructions: Start by heating the oven to 350F 175C. Over medium heat, cook the bacon pieces in a large skillet until they are crispy. Take out the extra fat, leaving only two tablespoons in the pan. Place chopped onions in the pan and cook them until they turn clear. Put navy beans, cooked bacon, onions that have been sauted, molasses, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper in a large bowl. Combine well by mixing. Put the bean mixture in a baking dish and make sure it's spread out evenly. Before you put it in the oven, heat it up. Bake it for 45 to 50 minutes, or until the top is caramelized and the beans are hot and bubbling. Take it out of the oven and let it cool down for a few minutes before you serve it. If you want, you can add more crispy bacon bits and chopped green onions as a garnish. Enjoy your smoky bacon baked beans while they're still hot!
