Pairing: Lee Heeseung x Y/N (ft. Jay)
Warnings: suggestive, infidelity (almost), everyone is questionable
Summary: Another party where you have to entertain yourself because your boyfriend won't.
I think I wanna kiss you, right here in front of everybody, right now. You take a sip of beer in the red plastic cup, eyes glued on your boyfriend, who is playing beer pong with the boys in the living room. He has that signature smirk on his face every time he scores a point, and you somehow love it but also hate it at the same time. He scores another point and the crowd goes wild. He looks up at you, sending a flirty wink your way. You have been at this party for a few hours, and the crowd is relentless, never leaving Heeseung alone. You don’t think you will get used to his popularity anytime soon. It drives you crazy from time to time, and tonight is one of those nights. He makes no attempt to spend time with you, and you are obviously pissed. Another perfect shot and you don’t think you can handle it anymore. You go to the kitchen to fill your cup with something stronger before heading to the pool. You sit on the poolside, watching people engaging in all sorts of shenanigans. Someone then takes a seat next to you.
“Heeseung left you alone to fend for yourself again?”
You glance at the boy sitting next to you, it’s an underclassman who you share some classes with, Jay. You wouldn’t say you are close, you only greet each other in passing occasionally. Sometimes when there are no available seats left, Jay would sit next to you, and you don’t mind lending and borrowing each other’s notes when one was absent or so. Aside from schoolwork, you don’t really delve into each other’s personal lives, you’re not interested, that's all. You know Jay is single, and Jay knows you are in a relationship with Heeseung. But you both have bumped into each other enough times at parties like this for Jay to know how it goes for you. Heeseung would be completely swarmed by the adoring crowd, which he doesn’t seem to mind, and you would spend your time socializing or watching Heeseung, maybe both at the same time. Jay doesn’t think it’s fair, how you always seem like the one chasing after Heeseung.
“Yeah, I guess it’s a pattern for us.”
“You just gonna let him treat you like this?”
“Okay, I don’t wanna overstep, but I have to say it. I don’t think any boyfriend should leave his girlfriend to fend for herself like this.”
You stay silent. You don't utter another word after what Jay said. Your feet are dangling in the crystal blue pool. The sparkling light from the pool reflects on your features. Suddenly, Jay stands up and holds out his hand.
“Come on, let’s get some snacks.”
You hesitate for a second, your mind is still swirling from Jay’s words. Jay shakes his hand as an urge, and you take it. Jay pulls you up and leads you inside looking for snacks. You look around for Heeseung like a habit, he finished his beer pong a while ago and is nowhere to be seen now. Jay heads straight to the kitchen, snacks are the only thing on his mind, I swear these parties should invest more in their food stock instead of cheap booze. He looks back at you, only to find you standing still, eyes searching.
“Y/N, Y/N, Y/N. You need to take your mind off that boy for a second. Come on, the snacks are this way.”
Jay turns you towards the kitchen and guides you there. He fumbles with the snacks displayed on the kitchen counter, brows furrowed. You look at him puzzled, the snacks are all here, what is he looking for? You just shrug after watching him for a while and turn to the booze, your eyes habitually searching the crowd for Heeseung.
Jay pushes a plate toward you. It’s a sandwich, and it looks quite decent. You take a bite, and it tastes phenomenal, considering he made it with the things they call “food” at this party. You’re starting to see Jay in a new light today. Jay raises an eyebrow, non-verbally asking for your evaluation. You just nod, for a split second, you don’t seem to care about Heeseung's whereabouts anymore.
“You know, you can do way better than Heeseung. If you just look close enough.”
Jay has moved closer to you when you were focusing on the sandwich. You only notice the tiny gap between your bodies then. You look up and he’s looking at you intently, his eyes asking a forbidden question. He’s closing the distance between you, the sandwich’s long forgotten on the plate, and you don’t flinch away, at all.
A familiar voice pulled you back to reality. You take a step back, waking up from the momentary haze. Jay also looks up, but doesn’t seem to bother distancing himself from you. You know Heeseung well enough to see through his impassive face as he stands at the threshold, his eyes zeroing in on you and Jay. You walk to him instinctively, and he meets you halfway. He doesn’t say anything, just immediately pulls you into a passionate kiss. You're surprised at the sudden kiss, but soon melt into it, like you always do. But the kiss goes on and on, and you can feel all the eyes in the room watching you two. You put your hands on his chest, slightly pushing him away, signaling him to stop. He did stop, but just for a split second before pulling you impossibly closer and kissing you again. All you can see, smell, taste, hear, and feel right now is Heeseung. All stray thoughts are wiped off of your mind, including thoughts about Jay, who has already left the room.
Heeseung whispered in your ear, his voice’s heavy from the rage he felt when he witnessed you with Jay, and from something else, too. You look him in the eyes, and you can see the fire in them, threatening to burn you inside out, and you’re willing to get burnt.
“You know I only purposely leave so I can come back to you, right?”
He whispered in the small gap between your lips, your foreheads touching. You nod lightly. Heeseung takes your hand in his and leads you out of the house, to his car, then drives away.
