Summary if 2019
Last year I started keeping track of all the chaos I started at work and posted it here. This year I'm several days late on posting it but here you go:
▪I knighted the intern as Sir Samson of the SVT, because that's all we saw while he was on the rig.
▪︎I ran screaming into the main because our ops manager granted my wish and gave me a new ambulance.
▪︎I called him the genie of the valley of insanity
▪︎I sprained my ankle on scene of a call AFTER helping an elderly woman back into her wheelchair
▪︎I worked for 96 hours straight and by the end of it I had my head out the window screaming "we are the champions"
▪︎I was told several times to not make my face out loud bc patients can actually see that
▪︎I screamed through the busiest intersection in the city bc our lights and sirens went out and we were opposing and had the red
▪︎I made a compilation of disney songs and ended up on Instagram and in the sups office
▪︎I hung from the rail in the ambulance and said i was retiring bc i had become a lemur
▪︎I got to drive the sup car
▪︎I fumbled my unit number about ten times over the air with dispatch and eventually said idk what I'm on today but I'm here (got a write up for that one)
▪︎sat on the floor of a patient's house and held her dog in my lap while fire did everything
▪︎almost died when fire shocked a patient and I wasnt quite clear
▪︎said "cha cha really smooth" after fire told a patient to slide to the left
▪︎found crayons in the ambulance and filled out a few things in crayon, fire now offers to buy me coloring books and asks about my crayons everytime I see them
▪︎got a DOA on Christmas day and whispered "oh no Santa's dead somebody cancel Christmas" (he looked a lot like Santa)
▪︎ran around on Christmas eve asking everyone if they wanted a kiss only to hand them Hershey kisses and run off giggling
▪︎had a rough time with walk up medical aids, my partner was always asleep and disoriented when it happened.
▪︎saw a 9mm gunshot and thought to myself that's awfully small for all the screaming
There's probably more but I can't remember all of it. This year I was a lot busier with school and trying to get another job so my shenanigans are severely lacking. I had a darker sense of humor and was a tad bit meaner to patients than I should have been.
Just another day
If I recall correctly, you rang us for help, so if you could not headbutt me while I'm trying to take your vitals that'd be great buddy.

How come I can be standing outside and hear sirens from 9 miles away but when I’m driving code 3 The person in front of me can just stay cruising along with zero knowledge that I’m 3 inches from their bumper and not a single fuck to give.
I feel this on an emotional level 😅
Here here! 🍻 & a Happy EMS week to all you filthy animals! May your week be filled with EMS rooms full of actual food, potty breaks and naps. 🤘🏼
