Sorry if this question has been asked before, but what are "paras"?
Hi! Iβm not sure which post recently had this, but Iβll answer and link what I can.
Paras refer to βparamesβ which are characters who exist within a daydreaming universe (whether for those with compulsive maladaptive daydreaming or healthy immersive daydreaming). These are very intricate characters who are often built up over years and decades and are specific to a personβs daydreaming universe. Sometimes theyβre characters from another world, but most often theyβre Original Characters or OCs.
Basically, itβs the daydreaming equivalent of OCs, except the term parame comes from para-me, meaning that thereβs a bit of the person inside of each of the characters.
I believe these are important to aegosexual people because while a lot of aegos use fanfic and fictional characters for their fantasies, a lot of us create our own characters for them as well. The paras I have, are used both for daydreams and fantasies. And the two often overlap a lot.
I am definitely missing details, but thatβs my quick notes on them.
