In DR1, I think they'd accurately be described as foils to one another. Kirigiri is emotionally distant and considers Naegi "foolishly open"; she warns against trusting anyone in the situation at hand. Naegi is the inverse; he wears his heart on his sleeve and believes they have to trust each other in order to get through the "game." The ways they contrast ultimately end up helping them both through the experience.

I find it interesting the callback parallels we’ve seen between the personalities and events of the Doctor’s life in the new series vs. the old, in specific the fates of their regenerations.

We have a parallel of Eleven (revealed to actually be Thirteen through writer’s shenanigans) dying of old age, like One - a circular life, the end is as the beginning.

We have a parallel of Twelve (the first in a new regeneration cycle) dying because of the Cybermen, like he did his first life (and as an aside, imagine how pissed the Daleks must be, that they’ve never been able to kill the Doctor, when the Cybermen have done it twice. No wonder the levels of snark in Doomsday.)

And we have Thirteen, who is the 5th person named Doctor (Nine, Ten, Eleven, Twelve, not counting the Warrior) in the new series, who is blonde and will have a TARDIS crew with three companions, just as the Fifth incarnation did.
