Seventeenth promise, kept forever

Optimus paced back and forth by the time long before the autobots arrived.
When he told them the news of bumblebee being kidnapped, they immediately went and surveyed everything.
Hound went to scout with the mirage and beachcomber, brawn and gears looked everywhere in places where there could be decepticons. The aerial bots took the skies with other available autobot fliers.
Everyone has immediately locked in once they heard that bumblebee had been captured, it at least soothed Optimus’ already frantically and worrying processor but that never stopped him from worrying the worst.
He still remembers the day when he officially adopted bumblebee.
“Hey there little one! Hello~.” Optimus coos, letting the baby bot grasp his pointer digit. “Alrighty then, everything seems to be in order.” Kup says, looking at the paperwork.
“If it’s alright with you, could you perhaps visit, with bee in tow?” Kup suggests, passing the adoption forms to Optimus. “Of course, may I ask why?”
“Oh. Hot rod already called dibs on being his big brother, practically carried him around almost everywhere until I ask him for the bitty.” Kup exclaimes, smiling wide at the memory of the younglings getting along with each other.
“Oh I wished I could see that, it would’ve been so adorable.” He laughed, subconsciously rocking bumblebee.
“It was, he even watched bee’s helm when holding him, the most responsible hot hod has ever been.” Kup agrees, chuckling himself about the memory before his expression fell into concern.
“… is something wrong?” Optimus wonders, his optics staring at the older bot with worry. “N-nothing just-… do you ever wonder what happened to his creators?” The older mech asks, turning to the prime.
“…. I’m certain one of them is still functioning.” Optimus replies. “Bumblebee’s bond with his carrier or sire is still present.” He added, letting the sparkling magnetise to his chassis while he supervises the bitty.
“He’s still bonded?” He asks, genuinely surprised by the fact. “Indeed. And a very strong bond too, I haven’t seen it falter yet.”
“Wow… what will you do when you find them?”
Optimus paused, he never really got that far in his processor before… what will he do when he finds bee’s sire or carrier…?
“I-… I guess I’ll give him back. Let him be with his bio-family.” Optimus hesitates, gently caressing his sleepy sparkling’s faceplate, watching the little solar panels flutter before relaxing in content.
“… but I see bumblebee as my own kin, it’s-… it’s gonna be hard when I finally let him go with his biological sire or carrier.” Optimus admits, pressing both his and bee’s forehelm’s together.
Optimus had felt so protective of bumblebee ever since he came into the prime’s life, both bee and the other younglings and sparklings kept him and the other autobots fighting for their home.
He had honestly preferred bumblebee to not participate in this on going war between autobots and decepticons… but even he can’t keep bumblebee from the action.
The glee in his optics was so bright and determined that he personally enrolled him into training, he excelled his scout training and graduated with honours. Wearing the autobot badge proudly displayed on his chassis.
Optimus smiled at that memory before hearing familiar engine roars from the Ariel bots.
Immediately he went to them. “Silver bolt, what have you found?” He asks, wringing his servos together. “Found traces of stunticon tracks.. but they disappeared.” Silverbolt reported, looking down at his peds.
“We were on their tail’s too!” Air raid interjects, balling his servo into a fist and shaking it. “And the rest of the decepticon’s whereabouts?” He asks.
They shook their helms with long faces. “Prime!” The six bot’s turn towards the bot who shouted. It was paraglide, coming in for a land.
“You’ll not believe what I found while on my way back!” He sounds out of breath despite having no lungs, must’ve got here in a hurry. “What is it?” Optimus asks, a bit nervous but hopeful about paraglide’s find.
“I saw soundwave on my way back here, thought I’d do a little snooping and.. oh man mech, what I saw had me restarting my optic lenses.”
The autobots lightened up, glad they got some form of a lead despite all the weird things that happened ever since today. “Did you see bumblebee?” Silverbolt asks, standing beside the prime.
“Yeah! I did, looked really fishy too, flying towards in the middle of the ocean.” He told them optimus’ optics squinted with suspicion.
“I know where they took him.” He says, servo clenching as to not let rage get the best of the prime. “Really?! Where?” Silverbolt asks, both airel bots and paraglide listened with intent.
“Decepticon base.”
