Cat person - Sans, Edge

Sans - He literally is a cat.

Cats sleep a lot, and when they're not sleeping, they disappear into the aether for a week before coming back like they didn't just become the country's no. 1 missing person's case.

It's all Sans can ask for in an animal. I feel like he'd like any cat that has a bit of floof. The poofy ones with the swishy tails that look like a giant puffball when they sleep on your lap.

Edge - While I do also see him as a dog person, I feel like that would mostly be for appearance's sake. Dogs are mean and rough, and tell me he wouldn't look great walking a Doberman or a Great Dane.

Really though, he likes cats. They're elegant and you can really dote on them. While he looks great with a dog by his side, there's something about seeing this grizzly (but very obviously taken care of) cat standing on his shoulders and looking down at anyone who dares come near.

Dual glares of contempt.

Reptile person - Papyrus

Papyrus - We all knew that one kid in school who had a bearded dragon, or a gecko, or a tortoise, or a snake. Papyrus would be that kid.

He thinks lizards are the greatest animal. He goes straight to the reptile section at zoos. Snakes aren't really his thing but lizards are and he says hello to every single one he comes across.

Animals are just another joy of the surface that he wants to explore and he is going to enjoy it to the fullest. If that means petting the giant water puppy, so be it.

Rodent person - Axe

Axe - Rodents are often misunderstood creatures which is a shame because they're very cute. Rodents don't just mean rats and mice! Guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils, and chinchillas are also rodents!

That said, hedgehogs are Axe's favourite. They're spiky, have tiny little paws, and an adorable nose. How can they not be his favourite? You can't have them as pets but Axe wouldn't have one anyway. He's too busy trying to take care of himself and his brother, nevermind an animal on top of that.

Though, if he were to get to a point where he feels he could safely have an animal in the house, it would be a rat. Rats are smart and do better with a companion which Axe would benefit from.

Bird person - Stretch, Willow

Stretch - He would know how to take care of all sorts of birds once he gets up to the surface. Unrestriced library and internet access lets you learn all sorts on information.

He'd like smaller, easier birds like parakeets and doves. They can just sit on his shoulder or his fingers as he does his own thing. They don't take up much space beyond their cages and they're really pretty to look at.

He's pretty good at mimicking cooes as well.

Willow - Willow only likes tiny or large birds, there is no in-between. Parrots are nice but… they can be bigger.

Once he finds out hawks exist, he will immediately sign up for a hawk handling course. There's something so freeing in actually seeing a bird fly. And a big one at that. There must be so much space on the surface if animals are able to grow this big.

On the flip side, he has a soft spot for canaries. They're just so small… and they sing beautifully.

He can mimick bird calls perfectly. It's sweet when you hear him chirping in the house but an absolute nightmare when you hear bird calls in the woods, especially at night. Is it a bird or is it a giant skeleton? Don't stick around to find out.

Bug person - Nova

Nova - Ants, tarantulas, snails, moths, beetles; you name it, he's going to have one as a pet as soon as he gets off the Outpost. There aren't many bugs there because it's not an optimal environment for them. Plus, Nova is too busy working, like, three different jobs, including being in the Royal Guard to properly take care of them!

But once he's off the Outpost and he has the time to raise insects? Once he realises all the pranks he could pull with just one (1) spider, it's over.

He just thinks bugs are neat. He'd most likely keep beetles and spiders. Stickbugs as well because he thinks they're funny.

Fish person - Gaster, Dust

Gaster - The sea is a void in and of itself. He gets that calling sailors get when they see the water. He wants to go out there and be on the water, be a part of the water.

When you're scattered across time and space, you experience everything and nothing all at once forever. You have all the time in the world to just… think and explore. The ocean is the most peaceful place he's been since he was lost.

One of his fondest memories is seeing a whale swim in the distance. It wasn't doing anything spectacular. Just swimming. Existing.

He would absolutely have a giant tank that looks like he just took a coral reef straight out of the ocean.

Dust - If he ever went to an aquarium, he'd never leave.

Seeing the little fish near the glass mesmerize him. The ones with the pretty frills and scales always catch his attention. Being colourblind, he might find it a little difficult to differentiate the colours on the fish but he finds it beautiful nonetheless.

He wouldn't ever have an aquarium/fish tank himself because taking care of another living being is too much pressure for him. But if he lived with someone, and they had an aquarium, he'd try his best to get involved (looming ominously in the corner of the room trying his hardest not to touch anything just in case he accidently kills a fish).

Horse person - Blue

Blue - Two words: cowboy Blue.

I can't exactly explain it but I feel like he would be the type of guy who loves horses. And not just because I can imagine him as a cowboy lmao. He seems like someone who'd enjoy working on a farm or at a stable.

He just likes those types of animals: cows, sheep, pigs, goats, etc. etc.

These animals need a lot of physical labour to maintain but luckily for them, Blue likes physical labour! He finds it's rewarding work.

Extra/Notes

Even if Blue and Stretch aren't neccassarily reptile guys, they definitely would have had geckos at some point. Small ones that easily fit in your hand, like crested geckos.

i still see him as a dog guy but he can fit both. imagine him with a maine coon or a flat-faced cat, like, i'd fold like an omelette if i saw that-

Edge (UF)

Ensures you have quality everything, the highest of all. Since he's the best, of course you naturally deserve the best as well

Refuses when you settle for "good enough". Anything worn-down or broken? Fixed. Beyond repair? Replaced. Troubled? Solved

It's called "necessary practical upgrades" btw, not "gifts" and "taking care you"

Never doubt his splendid act of service capabilities

Stretch (US)

Remembers all your preferences no matter how little/insignificant they are

Gives small and quiet affection, can get unnoticed if you aren't paying close attention enough

Your biggest supporter (from the sideline), an enabler through and through

Will always be there for you especially when you need a good listener

Rus (SFR)

Unexpected random spontaneous dates, treats you on impulse

The literal definition of "just because" and "trust me"

Finds excuses to spend more time with you and manage to convince you every single time

Heavy on casual and playful physical affections rather than the grand ones

Cash (SFP)

"Don't worry, I've got it" and then becomes the most convenient and resourceful guy you'll ever met

Provider mindset ™, this is why he's greedy with money in the first place people!

Seriously tho, you never have to worry about daily necessities/essentials

Loves being someone you can depend and lean on, even when he can be an ass by rubbing it in your face sometimes

Coffee (FSG)

Will share everything that he likes with you (especially hobbies and food)

Treats you by making an extra serving of your favorite snacks/desserts

Leaves little doodles/sketches for you to find when you aren't looking

Lets you win some games when you play together (even when you're bad at it, he just wants to experience things with you)

Oh dont get me STARTED on papyrus underfell

I think despite him working in the guard He's a d1 trouble maker. What do mean the giant explosion coming from dynes house was his fault? He would never, hes a law abiding citizen (hasnt paid taxes in several years, his brother taught him well)

Instead of holding hands he'll drag his s/o along by their wrist because the hand just isnt secure enough, be greatful he isnt carrying you by thre back of the neck like a cat

Speaking of cats, I think he meows, yknow that you'll cats do when they get surprised? I think he makes the same exact noise

Will steal his s/os clothes if he likes them. Half my outfits i think he'd pilfer or copy under the guise of 'Matching his Wife thing'
