I'm going to be returning to the series earlier than expected.

I've hit a snag in the latest DWM one-shot. I've been trying to work my new ideas into the current plot, but it's just not fitting. And I figure I could spend another few weeks fiddling with it, wasting more time OR I can set it aside, let it breathe for a bit, and work on something else. And I'd much rather spend my time working on Paper Men because that series is still unfinished, and I know people have been waiting a really long time for an update. DWM is technically done, so I'm not gonna stress myself out over bonus content.

I completely agree! And this is something I've thought about a lot, actually. Ran a lot of different scenarios through my head.

The epilogue of Paper Men will go into the future. Not crazy far into the future, but several years at least, putting most of the main characters into early adulthood. Apart from that, I am considering writing some Tumblr-exclusive one-shots in the future. I'm not 100% committed to that idea, but once Season 1 is done, I'll have a little more breathing room to play around with that kinda stuff.

Paper Men

I’m still working on Chapter 32.

The re-read took way longer than I thought it would. I think I ended up finishing it towards the end of May? That sounds about right. Fixed a few typos, probably created a few more by accident (for some reason, the formatting always gets messed up when I post to AO3. It frustrates me to no end).

Anyway, I’m actively drafting the next chapter. I’ve messed around with the Henry-Evelyn scene quite a bit, testing out different points of view, different approaches, and I think I’ve got it figured out now.

Like the previous chapter, this is a huge chapter for Henry. He cycles through so many complicated emotions: about his actions, his past, even his feelings toward Evelyn and her family. I think I’ve zeroed in on them pretty well, but I’m still figuring out the best way to portray them. I’m currently re-reading some of his old PM scenes as well as his scenes from It to see if I can come up with some new ideas.

But all in all, it’s coming along pretty well! If things stay on track, I should have it finished sometime next month.

The rest of the season is already mapped out as well. I know every scene. I know exactly how the season ends. The final scene is practically burned into my brain. So once I conquer this chapter, it should be smooth sailing.
