For the past few days I've been spending time in the little Colorado country town of Paonia. I was invited to give talks and live paint at the Visionary Summit, and have been doing an Artist Residency at Elsewhere Studios. Close friends of mine got me on a plane and flew me down to Paonia, Colorado to try to clean up. I drank enough methodone to make the trip down on the plane so I wouldn’t be sick. I did this drawing on the plane. Once i got to Paonia i went through a harsh detox. I stayed in a silverstream trailer for two months. That’s when i started to draw every day. Paonia is a beautiful small town in Western Colorado where the desert meets the high mountains.
