2 cups old fashion oatmeal (bought a 42oz container months ago for a little bit over $5, this much is about .50 worth).
1 carrot, hand shredded turned into almost 2 cups of carrot (keep end, put in freezer to add to a broth later) you can get a lot of carrots for a few bucks.
1 tsp cinnamon bought from bulk bin at winco I think a month ago
1 tsp pumpkin spice seasoning. I either bought this at Walmart a long time ago or refilled the container from winco about a month ago, I do not remember).
1.5 tsp vanilla extract (can find some at the dollar store, or get a big bottle of the Mexican kind for a couple bucks. I think mine is an expensive one but I have had for a long time).
1 tsp salt (I refill a very nice glass salt container with pink salt from the bulk bins at winco, it lasts for a long time and can be used in so many recipes. You can also find at the dollar tree)
2 tsp hemp seeds (bought over 6 months ago, used so many times because I typically only use a sprinkle not a full serving about $10 for the bag)
2 tsp chia seeds (bought over 6 months ago, used so many times because I typically only use a sprinkle not a full serving about $10 for the bag)
1\4 cup raisins (bought in bulk bins at winco over a month ago- I have used several times and have more left)
If someone was buying all the ingredients (although it will last for a long time and makes so many servings) I would place these ingredients at about $26-$30 right now. I will also end up adding almond milk and pecans to this.
Thankfully I bought all these ingredients at different times through out the year so I never spent that much in a single month for the ingredients. This is great because if I had to pay for that it would blow a whole week of budget (but would last longer than a week).
Cost for me in the month of November 2025- $0.
When it is done I will count how many servings it will be. I am guessing about 12 servings while the container would suggest 4-6- we just don't eat that big of a serving.
I will freeze the oatmeal in muffin trays and we will eat it through out the month so we do not have to eat it everyday at once getting sick of it.
I added 1.5 apple that I cooked in vanilla, cinnamon, apple pie seasoning, lemon.
And I added one packet of walnut date instant oatmeal packet to it this morning. I added this to make it a little bit sweeter but because it is being mixed with so many servings it doesn't taste sweet.
Probably kicked this up to about 16 servings.
