Palmier Baker:
- "I'm such a horrible person everyone around me is better off without me around."
- "I made a deal with a witch as a kid that got other children killed. I was super controlling and mean to the kid that I 'saved'."
- "I only do bad things and kill people. I don't care about anyone."
- "Maybe I should start a cult and remove everyone's free will using the magic of the witches I killed"
- "I really don't want to do anything, why can't I just be paid for being pretty"
- "I'm the reason my parents are dead and the witches are gone, thus I'm the reason for the war with the vampires"
Also Palmier Baker:
- Was just a kid negotiating with a witch at a sleepover. (Still bad, but why was the witch even there)
- Fell in love with the guy (Arshem) he "saved" as a kid and tried to make sure Arshem would never forgive him. That all his bad actions would be the last Arshem puts up with. (Did not work)
- Became friends with two people who have reputations for being desirable and undesirable at the same time. The rich but promiscuous powerful guy (Quill) and the golden retriever vampire refugee (Thane).
- Wants to make the world better for his sister Fia because she deserves better.
- Was apparently good at actually killing dangerous witches despite sleeping in class.
- Often spoke (and got high) with the quadruple amputee, super religious 'weird' teacher to the point that they were friends. She noticed he wasn't the same when the player takes over, and Palmier comes clean about his coma to her before he is well enough to return to his life.
- Saves Kor from eternal torture potentially as part of cult to remove people's free will scheme, yet did not use that power to do anything except kill witches.
- Intended to keep the connection with Kor as it was even when the bond with Kor was killing him. (To preserve her agency? To further world domination plan? To end his life and therefore his impact on those around him in his mind?)
- Apologizes to Arshem for his treatment of him, and wishes him well with player character Palmier despite his jealousy (bare minimum)
-Feels bad for the witches who were hunted simply for existing and experienced endless personal tragedies. (ex. Kor and Ivar)
- Only killed his dad because his dad killed his mother. Thus his dad started the violence and murders. Palmier's actions afterwards were arguably self defence and definitely justified revenge.
- Thinks his friends deserve a better friend. (Literally saw that happen with a better version of him because of MC in the first game) So he wants them to have space to find that. (Selfish self isolation for selfish and unselfish reasons)
- Lied to Main Character (MC) of second game (Royal Blood) about Ivar being their soulmate. Is really secretive about actual plans.
-Might be the reason there are two Ivars? Might be trying to free Ivar so Ivar can be happy?
- Seems to be trying to end the war?
- Is definitely giving the Royal Blood MC a second chance at life. (Even if it is a dangerous one)
- Fell in love/like with Royal Blood MC (second person he manipulated only to fall in love/like with them)
TL:DR= Palmier is a morally grey master manipulator failson. (That last part really hurts when you consider how he must feel to have "failed" to save his mom.)
Palmier is such a complicated, well-written character. (Anti-Social Personality disorder and all. Even with the witches souls giving him more feelings, he had plenty implied emotions he wouldn't acknowledge/credit before.)
