BG3/E33 Crossover Thoughts: Painted Alicia
I dunno how this girl would end up hanging out with the tadfools but I adore her and I rotate her in my head constantly so here we go.
Everyone in the BG3 party except Minthara has prominent scars, and I suspect being around that would help Alicia accept her own appearance. Wyll in particular should be good for her to talk to.
She can bond with at least half of them over having a weird love/hate relationship with toxic dysfunctional family.
It would probably take her a while to comfortable around Karlach, what with the whole Constantly On Fire thing, plus Karlach's very extroverted and exuberant and Alicia is...not.
The fact that Volo just happens to be carrying around a fully functional magic prosthetic eye is very convenient.
Fencing buddies with Wyll?
She's not as nihilistic as Verso but she's still vulnerable to Shar's influence, though I think she has a much better chance of resisting it than her brother who is basically guaranteed to convert.
I'm not sure to what extent magical healing could help with her disabilities. Original Alicia could benefit a lot, but Painted Alicia isn't "injured", she's technically completely intact. There's gotta be some way to at least give her an artificial voice if she wants it though, plus better options for pain management.
Moving to Faerûn would be basically perfect for all the Painted Dessendres (at least the ones that steer clear of Shar) because it gives them a chance to start fresh in a place where the Dessendre legacy means nothing and Aline has no power over them. I'm not sure what Alicia might decide to do with her life but my first thought is that she could become a wandering hero like Wyll was. I doubt she'll want much to do with any of the gods but I'd like to think she'll eventually find one to at least pay lip service to so she doesn't end up Faithless.
There is, however, a bit of a problem if this is an "E33 characters in Faerûn" scenario and not "BG3 characters in the Canvas." And that is that everyone is going to think she's a Drow at first. Gray skin (which she keeps mostly covered as though hiding from the sun), white hair (which she happens to wear in a style that could hide pointed ears), and short stature (drow are canonically kinda smol) is a combo that is going to attract a LOT of misplaced racism from random townsfolk. Though if she's tadpoled she could also use her drow-ish appearance to her benefit when interacting with the cult, just like drow Tavs can do in Act 1. At least until she meets Minthara, who will definitely be able to tell the difference.
So you're telling that neither of the two soundtracks „Alicia“ and „Maelle“ really belong to the original Alicia and that she literally has an epilogue, and I somehow wasn't meant to see that as a sign that the original Alicia is gone?
