Khaled Abu Toameh is an excellent journalist who has been exposing the corruption and whoelsale theft authorised and maintained under Palestinian leadership. This puts the lie to the Palestinian claim of oppression being solely caused by Israel. In fact, the greed of Mahmoud Abbas, shown here by his vindictive cuts to salaries and pensions of political rivals, has tanked the Palestinian economy.
This entrenches poverty and maintains the resentment needed to encourage terrorism. Abbas, after funding and defending terrorism, is angry that Israel has retaliated by deducting the amount paid by the PA to the families of terrorists and other felons. He claims this is “theft”, despite the increasing criticism of his own party by his own people, on account of the same crime.
A study in projection, one might say.
