I am perfectly willing to accept a story's outright supernatural elements, but a fifteenth-century manuscript written in semiuncial script might actually be too much of a stretch for my willing suspension of disbelief.

Rare (if anachronistic) dip into the very late classical period, writing is mostly modern-ish english language, Old Roman cursive script, pov is Gaulish. Stylus & lampblack ink on birchwood (pot and plate also handmade, glazed ceramic, ~750s ce East Anglia -inspired)
