"Waiting for God" is a painting of mine from 1996, based on a nightmare I had of a creature coming through the floor and attacking me. It was a reflection of my anxiety and the uncertainty I felt after moving to the Washington DC area. As well as my my loss of faith. This is made clearer if you know that the figure is me. ( I had long hair then ) I painted myself waiting, – in limbo – between the world beyond the window frame and the one underground.
