What is Lughnasadh? Celebrated on August 1st, Lughnasadh — also known as Lammas — marks the first harvest of the Wheel of the Year. It’s a time when ancient agricultural societies honored the bounty of grain and the Celtic god Lugh, a deity of the sun, skill, and craftsmanship. Traditionally, bread baked from the first grain was offered in gratitude for abundance and sustenance.

This sabbat carries the energies of:

As harvest begins, energy in the collective can feel "hungry," chaotic, or grasping. People around you might be seeking support, answers, or comfort. While empathy is sacred, preserving your personal energy is vital.

🛡️ 3 Simple Ways to Protect Your Energy Before Leaving the House (Lughnasadh Edition)

Smoke Cleanse with Herb of the Season 🌿 Burn a sprig of rosemary or mugwort before heading out. As the smoke rises, imagine a protective barrier forming around you. Whisper: “I walk in light, shielded and whole. Let no harm cross my soul.”

Wear Protective Jewelry with Grain Offerings 🔗 Adorn yourself with a necklace or ring containing onyx, black tourmaline, or obsidian. Place a grain offering beside it overnight (like oats or wheat) and set the intention that it serves both gratitude and defense.

Sigil in Your Shoe 🪶 Draw a small protection sigil on paper, infuse it with your breath, and tuck it into your shoe or sock. With each step, it grounds and guards you. For Lughnasadh energy, combine protection with strength + rootedness.
