I think witchcraft is interesting bc it's up to interpretation. There are things that have certain meanings, and elements, but how you practice is your own.
My alter is made of of things that are important to me, and things that represent Tyche or elements of luck. Anything can mean something if it means something to you. Personal ties and importance affects your craft so much.
I find some people on here are try to dictate witchcraft according to how they experience it.
There is more meaning in putting something together yourself, it's one thing to purchase ingredients it's another thing to not make it your own.
When I first started I followed a lot of what was pushed by the online community, but if there is anything I've learned in the 14 years I've been practicing. They are guidelines, ideas, not rules. Your craft is your own, don't let another person tell you exactly what to do with your craft. I learned from people, and reading etc, but I still do my own thing. And I have fantastic results. Learn from experienced witches and literature, but never forget yourself.
Do your own thing. There isn't only one way to be a witch.
