Padawan haircuts / Padawan beads
✨🌙 ART LOG -> @404ama
Part of the reason I hate the "Padawans are child soldiers" take (aside from TCW never presenting them as such, the take itself being a retroactively applied to tcw by newer works, or it being not what George Lucas had in mind), is the double standard
We got new stuff saying ahsoka has child soldier ptsd trauma, I've seen people recently act like its a given that Devon Izara has such too when they make their analyses of her, but we never apply that to 14 year old Ezra Bridger or 15 year old Sabine
The war they're fighting in is just as wacky whimsical adventure, no trauma no lingering issues, but the Clone Wars and the Padawans who fought in it? They're scarred for life by it, never mind that they were always depicted as being fine and eager to fight in Clone Wars, that not being allowed to fight was considered a punishment by the Padawans
More on my antics of "lightsabers are funny and I refuse to look at the actual cannon"- can you IMAGINE what it was like when Mace Windu got purple?!
Like all the other padawans on the ship are celebrating and cheering and hyping each other up like:
"Oh man, I got blue like my master!" "Lucky! I got green!" "That's like Master Yoda though!!!" "Oh yeah!"
and meanwhile you have Mace in the corner going "Hey. Hey why. Why's it. Hey why's it purple-" as Professor Huyang is scrambling to find something about this while whatever Jedi/Padawan they brought on the trip is starstruck-
I want to think they were friends

okay so shane and ilya are padawans who can't evolve because they're too focused on their rivalry. shane grew up learning to be methodical and can't get in tune with the Force, while ilya is impulsive and acts before thinking, missing self-discipline (and don't get me wrong they're both talented and rlly take this seriously). they don't even realize that one has the skill that the other lacks until their masters send them on a mission to bond hahah
aaaand obviously jedi can't love in a romantic way or get married so "b-but we're both padawans..!"
It's kinda poetic that most of the Jedi who survive 66 are younglings or half trained Padawans. Cause for all the propaganda painting the Jedi as baby stealers who sentenced those children to death, every single one of those Jedi are children whose Masters did everything in their power to keep that baby alive - even when it meant their own death.
Just seen a post talking about jedi-haters and what if the jedi actually were perfect and was reminded that I’ve accidentally given my friend a bad view on the order because I info dumped about padawans during the clone wars and also obi-wan kenobi and melida/daan
